This three-evening seminar series will be delivered by Neil through the newly developed Institute of Musculoskeletal Health and Innovation. It is designed to support early-career MSK clinicians in developing clinical reasoning, manual therapy, and exercise management skills for spinal conditions.

Each session will include a combination of lecture-based teaching and practical application. The three seminars will focus respectively on the lumbar, thoracic, and cervical regions, with an emphasis on effective clinical decision-making.

The series will have a highly interactive practical component, featuring closely supervised feedback, small-group work, and hands-on skill development.

Seminar aims, objectives and learning outcomes

  • Develop improved clinical reasoning in understanding the role of therapeutic interventions for spinal pain.
  • Build on existing skills and learn new manual therapy techniques that are simple to apply and supported by appropriate underpinning evidence.
  • Integrate exercise principles with clear reference to pain differentiation and the bio-psycho-social framework
